Confini in-definiti I Un-defined borders,
Is the result of a research on the sign, as a theme that I believe is necessary for a visual introspective dialogue. It is a diary in which every instinctive gesture merges with the definition of the contours, through a technique that is close to writing. There is, as a result, the will to put a stop to casualness and petrify it, so that it will make sense. The movement, that I appropriate in my own work, is fixed with Indian ink and the nib of a pen, delimiting the coloured ink that I have traced with a brush. I often get the feeling that this free sign, thus delimited, is trying to free itself at all costs, by forcefully pounding its contour; this provokes a visual reaction, a fragmentation, as in a chemical reaction. The sign follows processes of affirmation, cancellation and affirmation of that which has been cancelled - these are the layers of a written inquiry.
“Confini in-definiti | Un-defined borders”
È il risultato di una ricerca sul segno, tema a me necessario per un dialogo visuale introspettivo. Si tratta di un diario dove il gesto istintivo si fonde con la definizione dei contorni con una tecnica vicina alla scrittura: il risultato è la volontà di fermare la casualità, di pietrificarla per dargli un significato. Il movimento, che sento proprio nel mio lavoro, si fissa con la china data a pennino, delimitando l’inchiostro colorato steso a pennello. Spesso ho l’impressione che quel segno libero, così delimitato, cerchi a tutti i costi di liberarsi battendo con forza sul suo contorno; questo provoca una reazione visiva, una frammentazione come in una reazione chimica. Il segno segue dei processi di affermazione, di cancellazione e di affermazione di ciò che è stato cancellato, sono gli strati di una indagine scritta”.
